BA5T has some very expensive alloying additions but may be a better option than the BATT for those who need to turn out quality cutting fast.
These laps are intended for the experienced BATT user who requires a harder-finer-grained lap for HIGH SPEED PRODUCTION POLISHING processes. Being a very complex alloy and having attendant casting quirks (It has to be nitrogen remelted, for example), the BA5T requires a heavy ("Pro-Weight") casting, and extra machining steps.
The BA5T is not intended for the Mass Market. This is a limited production lap that is designed for EXPERTS. Those who have mastered the use of the BATT lap will adapt to the BA5T quickly but results will depend on the proficiency of the user.
For someone slaving under a stopwatch for a living, they are cheap, but for hobbyists, we recommend the regular production BATT as offering the best Price/Performance value.
