This is a PROFESSIONAL GRADE PRO-SLICER LAPIDARY DIAMOND CUTTING BLADE – and this blade is Made in the USA – it is a much higher quality steel than others from Asia and China. This Pro-Slicer Ultra-Thin Blade produces thinner and smoother cuts and is for cutting rare and valuable materials when waste must to be held to a minimum. The Pro-Slicer diamond blades last longer and will cut faster than ordinary notched-rim or plated diamond blades.
Please note that Pro-Slicers are an Electroplated Blade (not a Sintered Blade) consequently, they should not be redressed.
Why don't I redress an Electroplated Blade?
Dressing any Electroplated Blade destroys them. Dressing a blade works to remove the metal that has glazed over the diamond particles in a sintered (metal bond) blade in order to re-expose the diamond and make it cut again. In an electroplated blade, the diamond is plated in a layer on the blade surface so this glazing does not really happen in the same way and dressing actually does more harm than good. Electroplated blades are great for thin cutting but they will not last quite as long as a metal bond sintered blade - just need to be aware of the difference and choose a blade to best suit your job.
